TN History is recommended for 6th-7th grade students.
If you desire your child to take a history class in a year other than suggested, please speak with the tutor
or a member of the Academic Affairs Committee.

Please note: The students do NOT need to purchase any texts for this class.
WHCT will have them available to rent for the year for $10.
(The book is out of print and the school has purchased the books to ensure all students have a copy.
Students are expected to return the books in good condition.)
We will be exploring the people, places, events, ideas, and issues that have shaped Tennessee into the state it is today.
We will take 2-4 field trips that will help enrich our study, taste foods eaten during specific time periods,
and have several presentations to ensure understanding of the material.
In addition, we will practice note-taking skills.
We will spend our class time discussing the information covered in each lesson,
watch PowerPoint presentations to help understand the material,
as well as discuss homework and student presentations.
- Weekly assignments should take 2-3 hours to complete,
with projects requiring additional time.
