Course Description:
World Geography is a full year course that will provide exposure to God’s world
and His people.
The students will use the five main themes of geography: location, place, human environmental, movement, and region to guide their understanding of different cultures
and countries.
The students will occasionally research and discuss current events.
Course Class Time:

Class time will primarily involve interactive group discussions, students presenting projects, tasting a variety of food, and assignments that encourage students to explore more deeply the material they have read.

Maps will be used to provide geographic context.

Quizzes covering maps will be taken in class.
Course Homework Requirements:

Each student will be expected to read the material assigned, label various maps,
prepare projects / presentations on specified regions, and will create an end of the
year project that illustrates the various countries learned. -
Weekly assignments will require 2-3 hours to complete.
Project assignments will require additional time.
Testing:

Tests will mainly be taken at home, usually open notebook or open book.
Grading:

20% class participation

20% homework

20% tests and map quizzes

40% projects and presentations
