Geometry A: Tuesdays & Thursdays
Geometry B: Tuesdays & Thursdays
Please note, Geometry A & B are identical classes offered in two different periods.
Both A & B sections meet twice per week.
Students need to have completed Algebra I.
Students scoring a B or better in a pre-requisite class taken at WHCT
are not required to take a placement test for the next level class.
All other students must pass a short placement test prior to registration.

This is a high school level geometry course covering deductive reasoning, proofs, lines, triangles, polygons, circles, similar figures, introductory trigonometry, transformations,
area, and volume.
Course Class Time:
Students are expected to bring all materials to class and arrive on time,
ready to participate.
Class time will include review problems, student questions, introduction to
new concepts, and opportunities to work on new problems.
Various geometric constructions will also be introduced for specific topics.
There will be occasional in-class quizzes, sometimes unannounced.
Course Homework Requirements:
All homework assignments are to be completed in pencil, legible,
and in the format the teacher provides.
Homework will consist of reviewing the lesson, completing problems
from the book or handouts, and/or working problems online in MathXL.
Weekly assignments will be emailed to the students and parent at the
beginning of each week and will also be available on Schoology.
Assignments will be due the following Tuesday with the assignment
sheet stapled to the top and initialed by the parent.
Students/parents should be diligent to get assistance as needed during
the week on assignments. You are welcome to email or call me for help!
Students can expect to spend 4-5 hours per week on homework.
Chapter tests will be given upon the completion of each chapter and
may be a combination of handwritten tests and MathXL tests.
Tests will need to be proctored by a parent and will come home in a
signed, sealed envelope. They are to be returned in the provided envelope,
sealed, with a parent signature on the seal.
Occasionally, tests will be given in-class.
Tests will be announced as closed book/closed note OR open book/open note
at the discretion of the tutor.
