Course Pre-Requisites / Co-requisite:
This course is typically recommended for 8th-9th grade students.
Student must have completed or be enrolled in Pre-Algebra.

please contact your umbrella for its acceptance prior to the 9th grade.
Exploring Creation with Physical Science, 2nd edition.
Physical Science explores basic chemistry and physics
concepts while learning about the earth.
The chemistry semester deals with the chemical properties of atmospheric
gases and water molecules, and culminates in a study of weather.
The physics semester explores the laws of motion and the forces
that cause the motion and ends with a study of the universe.
Course Class Time:
Class time is spent going over the homework, exploring new concepts,
performing demonstrations or experiments, and taking quarter exams.
Course Homework Requirements:
A typical week’s homework includes reading, answering questions, and typing a pre-lab.
Additional worksheets will occasionally be assigned.
Module tests are taken at home.
Students can expect approximately four hours of homework per week.
Quarterly projects may require 4-5 additional hours per quarter.

Write a pre-lab for Experiment 4.3 Solvents and Solutes
Complete the worksheet Identifying Chemical Bonds
Review elements 1-10. Memorize elements 11-20 on the periodic table. Brief quiz in class.
Module tests are administered at home by a parent
and returned to school in a signed, sealed envelope.

20% quarterly tests
Internet access and a reliable printer are required for this course.
Experiments should be typed whenever possible.
Quarterly projects may require the purchase of special materials.
