and 10th-12th grade students.
Student must have received at least a B in a first-year Biology course.
Previous exposure to Chemistry is recommended, but not required.

The tutor will give assignments by page title (i.e. "Ventricles") so as to avoid confusion.
This is an advanced biology course.
In order to take this course, the student MUST have completed a first-year Biology course.
We will cover both the anatomy and the physiology of the human body’s eleven organ systems
in detail, including the reproductive system. (This will be covered with the male and female students learning separately the last two weeks of the year.)
Course Class Time:
Class time will include review of homework and labs, as well as hands-on
activities to reinforce the material that they will read from their text.
Labs will include microscope work and dissections.
The students will also work through an anatomy coloring book to enhance
their learning experience of each system.
In-class quizzes will be given every 2 weeks.
Course Homework Requirements:
The student will be responsible for reading the material in the text on their own
on a weekly basis.
Other homework will include weekly study guides, coloring pages, and pre-lab write-ups.
There will be a project in the 1st semester.
Students can expect to spend approximately 4-5 hours per week on homework.
This will consist of reading about 20 pages in the text and answering around
25 questions on the Study Guide.
Most weeks will involve a pre-lab write-up.

Internet access and a reliable printer are required for this course.

A Study Guide is due each week and will be available on Schoology
at least one week before it is due.
