Why I teach at WHCT:
“What do you want to be when you grow up?”
From my earliest memory, my response was always the same: “A teacher!”
I have always enjoyed teaching. I have a passion for learning and my goal is to make the learning process more engaging than the traditional week after week approach of lecture, reading, and testing. I am eager to share my passion for learning with your children in a way that will make the material more tangible and attractive. I look forward to continuing in WHCT’s tradition of providing a strong Christ-centered education for your children.
Educational Philosophy:
I believe a passion for learning will help build a foundation for a lifetime of learning and development. My goal is to kindle a passion for learning by engaging students with an exciting and experiential learning process.  This will make students more likely to participate in the class and remember the important points discussed.
Why I teach these specific courses:
I am excited to give parents the opportunity to expose students to four great classes: Speech, TN History, Middle School American History, and World Geography.

Well-developed speaking skills will be a valuable asset for your children throughout their lives. Going beyond simply developing the skills to prepare a speech and persuade an audience, I will work to instill comfort in speaking in front of the class and larger groups of peers.

World Geography will provide your student with an understanding of the world’s countries and its people – this background is increasingly valuable in today’s rapidly changing cultural landscape. The students will learn through PowerPoint presentations, student presentations, as well as food samplings from various countries to help the students experience life from other countries.

TN History and Middle School History are geared toward learning the values, beliefs, and experiences that helped form both our state and our country today.  We explore a variety of teaching techniques such as food sampling from specific time periods, PowerPoint presentations, as well as student presentations to enrich our class and better understand the material being discussed.
