Why I teach at WHCT:
We are a fairly new family to homeschooling, and I have gained
a tremendous respect for parents who choose to homeschool.
I am excited to be a part of WHCT as a tutor who walks alongside these parents and helps to supplement their educational framework at home. WHCT has been a great encouragement to our family, and I am honored to be a small part of the students’ lives.
I am a graduate of the University of Cincinnati, and hold a B.S.
in Education with a concentration in English/Literature.
My educational philosophy is simply to encourage a love of learning in students. We each have different styles of learning, and when every student is given the opportunity to learn within
his or her style and not forced to fit into a pre-set parameter, that love of learning will be allowed to flourish.
Why I teach these specific courses:
Obviously with my degree, English and Literature are where I am most comfortable. But even beyond that, I have a love of the written word in all its forms, and (geek alert) a love of grammar,
as well! However, I do understand that not everyone feels the same, but I am hopeful that my students will come away from my course with at least some increased appreciation for the beauty
of literature and more than a toleration for proper grammar.
