Why I teach at WHCT:
After teaching in public schools in both TN and FL, I have
been homeschooling my own children for almost 11 years now. Our family has benefitted from West Harpeth, and other tutorial classes over the years. I desire to support homeschooling families in their child’s education, to help ensure academic success.
I am thankful for the unique partnership that tutorial classes offer students and their families.
I believe learning can be fun, and that there is value in both independent study, and classroom discovery and experiences.
My desire is to provide classroom opportunities that bring textbook information to life, as well as time for students to learn from each other and with each other. I feel that learning about science and history will prepare students to think logically, and from a Biblical perspective, as they move beyond middle school and high school.
Why I teach these specific courses:
I received a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Clearwater Christian College. My experience in the classroom
has always been intermediate or middle school grades.
I am honored to have the privilege of teaching science and history through the lens of Christianity at an age where a student’s worldview is still forming. I am passionate about helping students see God’s creation, design, and intentionality throughout both science and history.
